Southport Town Council Petition

On 24th January 2019, Labour Councillors on Sefton Council blocked a proposal by Conservatives and local residents to create a Southport Town Council after the Southport Area Forum was abolished.

The proposal followed years of neglect from Sefton who only see Southport as a cashcow for projects in Bootle.

The motion would have triggered a consultation amongst residents and given Southport it's own voice on local issues.

Labour's shameful action to block this consultation means that only Southport residents can now force a consultation - that's why I need your help.
